Babcock Intestinal Forceps

Babcock forceps hold hollow viscus and tube through fenestrated, rounded jaws that are meant to be kinder than Allis teeth. The 6 inch length is useful in smaller fields and on paediatric or superficial work. It is priced with 6 inch Allis so the buyer pays for pattern, not for size. Never substitute Kocher or Allis when a list says Babcock. Photograph the fenestration — that oval window is how a storekeeper recognises the piece in a pile of forceps.
